Director, Global Supply Chain Quality (m/f/d)

THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AWAITING YOU:
  • Ensure quality infrastructure and standards at global suppliers and distribution partners to meet compliance requirements for products and manufacturing sites.
  • Act as a liaison among Merz Aesthetics Frankfurt Site, Global Functions, and the Global Quality department for strategic alignment and compliance
  • Coach and mentor team members for optimal performance.
  • Recruit and interview qualified applicants.
  • Provide new-hire training and ongoing development for the Quality Team.
  • Oversee global initiatives, qualifying new commodities, and managing current supply to prevent quality-related issues.
  • Determine critical matters like product safety, quality, and compliance with suppliers and distribution partners.
  • Interface with key management across manufacturing, logistics, R&D, and medical teams.
  • Govern Supplier Excellence programs to ensure improved performance.
  • Drive changes in quality processes (e.g., electronic qualification, process monitoring, resource management through software).
  • Leverage global supplier data for supply chain improvements.
  • Adhere to international medical device and medicinal product regulations (ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, EU MDR).
  • Interact with local health authorities, US FDA, and Notified Body.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
  • Academic Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or Related Technical Discipline or Master's in Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 10 years of overall experience in Operations, Quality Assurance, or similar roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in other EMEA languages is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medical Device quality principles, including technical aspects of product, package, process, design, compliance, and manufacturing across diverse product types.
  • Proficiency in relevant Medical Device and Medicinal Product Regulations (ISO13485, 21CFR210,211,820, MDR, DSCSA, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, prioritization capabilities, and commitment to agreed timelines.
  • Ability to conduct audits, both hosting and facilitating them for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management and performance management methodologies and familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Previous experience in leading teams, both direct reports and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with technical experts.
  • Capability to thrive in a global, matrixed work environment.
